More women. More bikes. More often.
In 2016 Trek Bicycle launched the Trek Women’s Advocate program in the US and Canada. 54 women were chosen from an applicant pool that included women who worked at bike shops, women who were already doing great things in their community getting women on bikes and women like me who are super passionate about riding and wanted to get more women on bikes but also educate them about different types of riding, safety, maintenance, fitness and introduce them to a network of women like them.
I’m excited to announce that I’m one of 72 women chosen as a Trek Women’s Advocate for 2017-2018! Many of us are returning as Advocates, but Trek has also added more women in areas that had a need for an Advocate. This means more rides, more events, and more clinics for more women in Knoxville!
I recently returned from the August Trek Women’s Summit at Trek HQ in Waterloo, WI where I met many of my fellow Advocates, rode bikes, learned best practices for hosting events and rides and rode my new bike. I can’t wait to finish working on my Advocate Plan for 2017-2018 and let you know all about the upcoming rides, events, and clinics. Get ready for more! More bikes. More women. More often.
